The Optimist Club of Arlington is now requiring all tackle coaches be certified by USA Football. We are also encouraging all flag coaches and football Administrators totake the course. USA Football is the Official Youth Football Development Partner of the NFL and NFLPA.  This is being done in an effort to improve our program and make it a better and safer learning environment for the youth in our program.

There is a fee to take the course of $20.00, which is paid online to USA Football.  Once you have successfully completed the course, the Optimist Club of Arlington will give you a credit of $20.00 against your next quarter’s dues.  Be sure to follow the directions below for signing up.  It is necessary to sign up correctly so that you can get the discount and so the club can accurately track your progress through the course.  Once you have successfully completed the course, the credit will be applied to your dues.

Signing up for Coaching Membership

Brand New USA Football members
1.      Go to www.usafootball.com and select “Register/Sign In” on the upper right side of the page.
2.      New coaches will need to select, “Become a Member Now”.
3.      On the next page, click “Sign Up” under “Youth Coaches”.
4.      On the “Coaching Membership Registration” page, fill in all fields designated with an (*).
5.     At the bottome of the page, select “I have read and accept the USA Football Terms of Service” and click “Continue to Payment”..
6.      On the checkout screen, please enter the promo code 9DD7KL3229 and select “Update Price”.
7.      Fill in your payment information and make sure all fields designated with an (*) have been filled in and select “Process My Payment”.
8.      As soon as your payment has been processed, you will receive a confirmation screen.
9.      You will need to check your email for an automatic email from USA Football.  Click on the link in the email to activate your account.
10.    You will now need to log into your account at www.usafootball.com.  Click on “Register/Sign In” box in the upper right hand side.
11.    Your username is your email address and the password you created during registration.
12.     To access the Tackle or Flag Course, you may click on the Courses located in the sub-heading (3rd from the left) of the “Coaches Page”.
13.    On the “Courses & Certification Center” screen, please select the course that you need to complete.  (Note: Tackle and Flag Re-Certification are only available to coaches that have completed the standard Tackle or Flag Course.)

Current USA Football members
1.      Go to www.usafootball.com and select “Register/Sign In” on the upper right side of the page.
2.      Enter your member email and password and sign in.
3.      Under the “Coaches” tab, click on “My Profile” (located under League Management and League Affiliation Control Center on the right hand side of the page).
4.      Scroll down to the bottom of the “My Profile” page and click on the link to “Renew Now” adjacent to the coaching membership.
5.      Check the box that you agree to the terms and service and click “Continue”.
6.      On the checkout screen, please enter the promo code 9DD7KL3229 and select “Update Price”.
7.      Fill in your payment information and make sure all fields designated with an (*) have been filled in and select “Process My Payment”.
8.      As soon as your payment has been processed, you will receive a confirmation screen.
